Our Matcha

Delivering matcha of the highest quality is our mission

A single bowl of matcha begins with one tea leaf, and everything originates from the soil. At Takumi Japan, the craft of matcha is not complete with harvesting and production alone. Above all, we place the greatest importance on thinking about matcha from the ground in which the tea leaves are grown.

Our commitment to soil cultivation

in partnership with Hattori Fertilizer

We believe that the most important factor determining the taste, aroma, and color of matcha is the soil design of the tea plantation. Takumi Japan works in partnership with Hattori Fertilizer, a company that has supported tea farmers in Mie Prefecture for many years, and uses specially formulated organic fertilizers developed exclusively for matcha cultivation.

feature

  • Ingredients derived from natural sources, carefully selected to bring out the full umami of the tea leaves.
  • Designed to act slowly and gentle on the soil.
  • A balanced nutrient blend that nurtures matcha's characteristic vivid green color and rich, mellow flavor.

Rather than simply applying fertilizer, we work closely with producers to create cultivation plans, taking into account the condition of the soil, the climate, and the growth stage of the plants.

Bring the excellence of Japanese craftsmanship to the World.
Matcha -making that respects the environment and the unique qualities of Japanese land.

Enriching the World Through Matcha

Japan has a matcha culture that has been with us for centuries.
Matcha carefully cultivated in harmony with nature, nurtured from the soil, and lovingly handed down through the skill of craftsman.
But its true value has not yet been fully recognized around the world.
Takumi Japan is a brand that walks together with Japanese farmers, bringing authentic matcha—born from the land, the climate, and the artistry of skilled hands—to the world.
Our goal is not only to export matcha.
Sharing the Respect for Nature, the Philosophy of Soil Cultivation, and the Skill and Pride of Artisans behind Matcha-Making.
By harnessing Japan's remarkable land and practising sustainable, environmentally friendly agriculture, we aim to carry matcha culture into the future. In doing so, we share the excellence of Japanese craftsmanship with the next generation and spread it to the world.

Approach to Production

The Connection of Soil, Tea Leaves, and Craft

Tea leaves nurtured in healthy soil are carefully handled by skilled artisans even after harvesting. To bring out the best quality of tencha, we use a process that mixes tradition with modern techniques, minimizing any unwanted bitterness while preserving the umami, aroma, and color.
We believe that only when every step—from soil cultivation to production—is connected in a single line can "authentic matcha" be achieved.
